Victorian Student Nurses (VSN) is a club that focuses on student nurses.

We host events throughout the year that focus on health & nursing related topics that are not usually discussed in a university setting.

VSN is run by a group of dedicated volunteers, including nursing students and industry representatives, who are committed to facilitating & encouraging a safe platform for balanced discussion

We focus on the Victorian health sector because that's where we're based, but discussion is not constrained to state borders - we cover topics from all over the world.

VSN strives to give student nurses access to a range of challenging ideas & concepts, and the platform to speak their minds so that they can continue to learn and grow.

Our Team

Meet the volunteers who run VSN

Xinxin Cao

President

A former student who has a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Xinxin likes to think of herself as an explorer and adventurer. Her main role is to oversee the overall running of VSN and act as the main point of communication between our members & the committee.

John Mckenna

Vice-President

John is an empowerment advocate, and passionate about equality. He is responsible for liasing with potential speakers & organisations, and facilitates our meetings as required.

Sheridan Hessing

Media Representative

Sheridan has completed a Bachelor in Media and Communications, and loves writing in all it’s forms. She looks after all media collateral, creates the public voice of VSN, and runs both the website and the Facebook page.

Rebecca Lanigan

Treasurer/Secretary

Rebecca Lanigan is a graduate nurse at Alfred hospital and currently works in Emergency & Trauma. She is passionate about health equalities, and nursing education. She brings experience in leadership, management, and advocacy to VSN. Her role with VSN is to ensure time appropriate and accurate communication of events and formal proceeds.

Zen Fong

Event Administrator

Zen is currently studying in the area of Social Work & Community Services. As the Event Administrator, her role is to assist with the planning & coordinating of regular VSN events. Zen is passionate about having a healthy living style.
